The Organization of the Madeira Orienteering Festival 2026 hereby announces that those with chips up to number 499,999 (SI 5), chips from 500,000 to 999,999 (SI 6) and 2,000,001 to 2,999,999, will have to exchange their Chip with the Secretariat before starting Stages 3 and/or 4 in Camacha. It was on the morning of January 5th that the Orienteering Trainings integrated into the Madeira Orienteering Festival began in Lombada da Ponta do Sol, with the map titled "Lombada dos Esmeraldos - inferior". This training session included the participation of 43 athletes who will be present at MOF 2026, taking the opportunity to refine their expertise on Madeiran terrain. On December 27th, our Race Director (Tiago Aires) gave an interview to RTP Madeira in order to promote the three days of the Madeira Orienteering Festival as well as highlight the record number of participants in this type of competition in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.   However, due to the dynamic nature of the registrations themselves, after a few hours, the number of registered athletes increased to 563 athletes.
